Genesis 1:26

26 And God said,
Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle,
and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing
that creepeth upon the earth.
Before we can dig further into Scripture, we must have a few facts straight, regarding man's beginnings.
It's important, so there won't be disputes about gender, and such.
Pay attention to these truths:
GOD created man, in His own image.
Genesis 1:27
King James Version
27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God created he him;
male and female created he them.
GOD created Adam first.
Genesis 2:7-8
King James Version
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.
8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden;
and there he put the man whom he had formed.
From whom, He created the Woman.
Genesis 2:20-22
King James Version
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle,
and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field;
but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep
to fall upon Adam, and he slept:
and he took one of his ribs,
and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man,
made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Adam names her.
Genesis 2:23-24
King James Version
23 And Adam said,
This is now bone of my bones,
and flesh of my flesh:
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother,
and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
After their fall from GOD's grace, Adam names Eve.
Genesis 3:20
King James Version
20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve;
because she was the mother of all living.
Do you know that even Woman was called "Adam"?
Genesis 5:1-2
King James Version
5 This is the book of the generations of Adam.
In the day that God created man,
in the likeness of God made he him;
2 Male and female created he them;
and blessed them,
and called their name Adam,
in the day when they were created.
Adam was also called the the "first Adam".
1 Corinthians 15:45
King James Version
45 And so it is written,
The first man Adam was made a living soul;
the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
Oh, but who was the "last Adam"?
1 Corinthians 15:47
King James Version
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy;
the second man is the Lord from heaven.
Fascinating, isn't it?
Unless you're born again, being taught by SPIRIT, you have no idea the treasures from the Bible.
