CITIES of REFUGE vs sanctuary cities

Psalm 127:1

King James Version

127 Except the Lord build the house,

they labour in vain that build it:

except the Lord keep the city,

the watchman waketh but in vain.

There seems to be some confusion in the world.

Not surprising, for Satan's known to be a "copycat".

He's also known to twist things, to suit his sin agenda.

I thank SPIRIT, and Scripture, in guiding me to write this.

We shall differentiate "cities of refuge" from "sanctuary cities".

"Cities of refuge" can be found in the Old Testament.

It is by GOD's mandate.

"Sanctuary cities" are through man's policy.

Here's how the Bible describes "cities of refuge".

Numbers 35:9-12

King James Version

9 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

10 Speak unto the children of Israel

and say unto them,

When ye be come over Jordan

into the land of Canaan;

11 Then ye shall appoint you cities

to be cities of refuge for you;

that the slayer may flee thither,

which killeth any person at unawares.

12 And they shall be unto you

cities for refuge from the avenger;

that the manslayer die not,

until he stand before the congregation

in judgment.

Numbers 35:13-14

King James Version

13 And of these cities which ye shall give

six cities shall ye have for refuge.

14 Ye shall give three cities on this side Jordan,

and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan,

which shall be cities of refuge.

Numbers 35:15

King James Version

15 These six cities shall be a refuge,

both for the children of Israel,

and for the stranger,

and for the sojourner among them:

that every one that killeth any person unawares

may flee thither.

Numbers 35:25

King James Version

25 And the congregation shall deliver the slayer

out of the hand of the revenger of blood,

and the congregation shall restore him

to the city of his refuge, whither he was fled:

and he shall abide in it

unto the death of the high priest,

which was anointed with the holy oil.

Numbers 35:26-28

King James Version

26 But if the slayer shall at any time

come without the border of the city of his refuge,

whither he was fled;

27 And the revenger of blood find him

without the borders of the city of his refuge,

and the revenger of blood kill the slayer;

he shall not be guilty of blood:

28 Because he should have remained

in the city of his refuge

until the death of the high priest:

but after the death of the high priest

the slayer shall return

into the land of his possession.

Numbers 35:29

King James Version

29 So these things shall be

for a statute of judgment unto you

throughout your generations

in all your dwellings.

Numbers 35:33-34

King James Version

33 So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are:

for blood it defileth the land:

and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood

that is shed therein,

but by the blood of him that shed it.

34 Defile not therefore the land

which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell:

or I the Lord dwell among the children of Israel.

More on "cities of refuge" from Joshua 20 KJV.

In comparison, "sanctuary cities" are described here:

"A sanctuary city is a municipality that limits or denies its cooperation with the national government in enforcing immigration law."

"A city's council and mayor will usually declare itself a sanctuary city and subsequently enact measures and policies that are welcoming and favorable to illegal immigrants. Sanctuary cities undertake the responsibilities of receiving and processing an influx of illegal immigrants, and providing services and resources for them to acclimate and live in the country and communities in which they arrive."

"The sanctuary city movement took place in the 1980s to challenge the US government's refusal to grant asylum to certain Central American refugees.[17] These asylum seekers were arriving from countries in Central America like El Salvador and Guatemala that were politically unstable."

-- Wikipedia

Right there, you can see sanctuary cities' "rebellious" nature.

They would not necessarily cooperate with the national government, especially regarding "immigration".

That's dangerous, and doesn't make sense.

It's as if they've become mini-states.

President Trump's first mandate was "border security".

The previous administration had let in over a million illegal immigrants, most of them criminals.

If it was not so serious, it wouldn't be the president's first mandate.

Sanctuary cities in America have been known to harbor illegal aliens, and criminals.

All who "knowingly" have committed a crime.

It is treasonous that Biden and Kamala have allowed this atrocity upon the citizens of America.

Now, Trump has to clean up after them.

With GOD's "cities of refuge", it's a place for "manslayers" who have committed it "unawares".

But they will still be judged by the congregation.

For their safety, they best remain within the city of refuge, until the high priest dies.

After which, they need to return to their original city.

With "sanctuary cities", the host city may, or may not KNOWINGLY be harboring criminals.

But if they do, that makes it TWICE the CRIME.

Biden and Kamala -- both lawyers, and their attorney generals should have known better.

Or maybe they did, and just pursued their left, woke, and DEI agenda.

President Trump and his border czar, Tom Homan, don't look lightly upon sanctuary cities harboring "fugitives".

They have to be deported, and/or answer for their crimes.

Precisely why newly-confirmed U.S. attorney general, Pam Bondi, has been tasked with these sanctuary cities.

Here's the warning she gave today.

It is one of the toughest jobs, securing one's borders, but it's got to be done under Trump's "watch".

Let us all pray for the success of Trump's policies, that America be safe again.
